VMR: Location and Deployment Logger

$400.00

[PLACEHOLDER IMAGE]

With the push of a button, record exactly where and when your instruments went over the side.

The Deployment Logger is the VMR without the motion sensor, built for science teams working from ships and small boats. Press a button to mark a CTD cast, a mooring drop, a sample station, or a sighting. Each mark is tagged with GPS position and accurate time. Cast mode keeps the mark open for the full duration of the deployment, and you can add notes later. The result is a clean, timestamped station log you can merge with your instrument data, replacing a pencil and a wet notebook.

  • Continuously display and log of GPS position

  • One-button marks with GPS position and GPS-synced time saved to CSV file while continuous log continues

  • Cast mode for marking the entry, recovery, and automatically calculated duration and distance between start/stop of a deployment

  • Mark and recording lights, readable at night

  • Wi-Fi hotspot dashboard and OLED display

  • Everything logged to a removable SD card in open formats, or download from Wi-Fi hotspot to any connected device

Under the hood: Adafruit ESP32-S2 Feather · GPS · real-time clock · SD logging · OLED display

Every VMR configuration is open source and built by Aspect Wave LLC. Open source on GitHub: https://github.com/sscopazzi/Vessel_Measurement_Recorder
